    Volume 1 of the yearbook edited by G. Leibholz and H. v. Mangoldt, which is probably the most influential of all, has been out of print for a long time. Considering the German Basic Law’s 60-year success story, the time has come to present a new study of its history. Peter Häberle has been the editor of the Yearbook of Modern Public Law since 1983. In his detailed preface, he deals with the history of the impact of the work done by the parliamentary council, primarily on the 123 volumes of the decisions of the Federal Constitutional Court in Germany.
